How this works
Where your money goes
When you choose an item, we hold it for you and send you to The Hedgehog Haven's own donation page on LoveGiving. Your gift goes to The Hedgehog Haven — to the restricted fund named on the wishlist, which means it can only be spent on the purposes described there.
Choosing an item is not buying that object. It tells The Hedgehog Haven what you would like your gift to go towards. The charity decides what to buy and when, within the purposes of the fund.
Who takes the payment
Not us. This website never receives, holds or handles your money, and it never sees your card details. Payment is taken by LoveGiving. Any question about a payment you have made, a refund, or a receipt is for them or for the charity, not for us.
Because no money passes through this website, there is nothing here for us to lose or hold up if anything happened to us.
Fees and charges
There are none, to anybody. We take nothing out of your donation — not a percentage, not a fixed amount, not a Gift Aid share. Every penny you give goes to the charity exactly as if you had used their donation page directly.
We do not charge charities to use this either. PD Marfleet Accounting Limited provides it free. Whatever charges the charity's own donation page carries, if any, are a matter between them and the charity, and are the same whether or not you came here first.
Keeping it honest
A wishlist can only send you to one of two places: a giving platform we have approved, or the charity's own website — and the website address is one we record for the charity, not one the charity can type in for itself. Nobody using this website can point a donation button at an address of their own choosing; the site refuses to accept anything else.
The words on a wishlist are written by the charity itself. We publish them and check that the charity is who it says it is, but we are not the author of them.
